Smart text and image generation tools for journalists and content teams now sit within the trusted publishing platform which helps media companies grow revenues.
Glide Publishing Platform (GPP) is pleased to announce the roll-out of generative AI tools within the SaaS system used by top journalists and publishers to improve content production and distribution.
AI-powered article summary and image generation will become available to users within GPP’s interface and workflows, spearheading a suite of AI features for creators to enhance and improve content and create more time for higher value work.
Importantly for publishers, the tools are not tied to a single generative AI provider or Large Language Model. GPP leverages Amazon Bedrock - a fully managed service from AWS offering a choice of high-performing foundation models (FMs) from leading AI companies like AI21 Labs, Anthropic, Cohere, Meta, Stability AI, and Amazon, along with a broad set of capabilities that customers need to build generative AI applications, simplifying development while maintaining privacy and security.
Doing so allows publishers to configure best-fit LLMs for the task at hand, with more options expected to come online.
Denis Haman, CEO of GPP, said: “This a double whammy of good news for publishers. Content and commercial teams have been chomping at the bit to make use of the obvious power AI can bring, but want to be reassured that generated content can be both traced and managed correctly.
“Featuring AI tools safely and ethically within GPP is a huge step forward and raises the confidence with which they can be used. We’ve also focused on making them highly usable so no special training is needed, an obvious incremental addition to our existing capabilities. Our goal is to augment human creativity, not replace it.
“The second major win for the industry is that GPP’s AI is not tied to OpenAI or Google. This is not to say we will not consider them in the future, but while they provide no assurance on the sanctity of our customers' data, they basically can’t be trusted in the B2B setting. This is where Amazon Bedrock is light years ahead already.
“It’s no secret that publishing companies have major issues with those companies and their cavalier attitude to using and retaining content and data, and there are already court actions with regard to that.”
Choice and freedom
With Glide, publishing and media companies use the AI LLM that is best for them. Using generative AI based on Amazon Bedrock means users are not trapped with a single provider of AI or hemmed in by the bad contracts well-known players are trying to force on publishers and content owners.
Bedrock already provides eight different LLMs in multiple languages from AI21, Anthropic, Meta, Amazon, and Cohere, and to Stability Diffusion’s image generation service. This number will grow as new LLMs become available and give wider choice and the most flexible usage and pricing models. Bedrock models are GDPR and HIPAA compliant.
Publishers experimenting with AI usage in their content and workflows already report improved engagement via article summaries, faster content creation times, faster ideas generation, and faster follow-up stories. GPP lets you get such benefits within the current SaaS platform – users don’t need to establish separate workflows or contractual arrangements.
GPP ensures that all AI usage is integrated safely in current publishing workflows, and captures vital data that is part of the workflow.
