Middle East and Africa business and financial news site Zawya launches on Glide Publishing Platform

Zawya.com launches on Glide Publishing Platform after migrating 4 million+ articles from legacy infrastructure. Bilingual English and Arabic publishing, multiple news feed integrations, and a full front-end redesign is delivered from a single CMS.

LONDON, UK - Glide Publishing Platform today announces the launch of Zawya.com on the Glide platform, making it the fourth site for UK-based LSEG to utilise Glide CMS to manage their content operations, Glide Deliver for website management and delivery, and the Glide Nexa audience interaction platform for subscription management and user personalisation. 

Zawya by LSEG is a leading source of business and financial news and intelligence across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and other parts of the Middle East and Africa. The platform serves approximately 500,000 monthly unique visitors and 1.5 million monthly page views, publishing around 8,000 articles per month in English and Arabic from editorial teams based in the UAE, Egypt, and India.

The Zawya project required migrating the platform away from its existing infrastructure and onto Glide CMS with a complete front-end redesign.

Delivered by Glide’s Professional Services, the migration included:

• Migration of 1.3 million articles, 33,000 images, and 450 videos from the previous platform, plus an archive of 2.7 million additional articles dating back to 2005

• Bilingual English and Arabic publishing with separate sections, topics, and taxonomies per language, managed from a single CMS instance

• Multiple upstream news integrations consolidated into one workflow: Reuters Connect API, Getty Images API, AFP (via FTP), Syndigate (XML), WAM, and Africa Press Releases (RSS)

• Downstream distribution to LSEG Workspace, XML sitemaps, RSS feeds per section, and syndication APIs

• Company data integration linking entities mentioned in articles to live company profile pages populated via LSEG's ADC Search API and DataGrid templates

• LSEG SSO and entitlements via Glide Nexa, leveraging the authentication infrastructure established for IFR

• Advertising integration with Google Ad Manager, Tag Manager, and Analytics

• Newsletter generation from article URLs with subscriber management, replacing previous tools with a manual workflow

• 14 editorial users onboarded across three countries (UAE, Egypt, India)

Zawya.com joins sister publications International Financing Review (IFR) and Project Finance International (PFI) which launched on Glide in June 2025, and DealWatch which launched in November 2025.
